Volunteers 2022

Hello! We are looking for volunteers to help out in our art classrooms for our Young Artists' Camp on the CSULB campus. Our camp is for youth ages 8-11. Volunteers will be assisting teachers in classrooms, and working directly with youth in the process of making art. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, chaperoning duties and help with materials. This is a great opportunity to experience working with children and learn how to teach art.

 

  • Camp begins July 18 and ends July 29, 2022.

  • Camp runs from 1:00pm-5:00pm.

  • You must be at least 18 years of age to volunteer.

  • Must get fingerprinted before the first day of volunteer

  • Must be fully vaccinated, booster not mandatory

  • You do not need to be a CSULB student.

  • You must commit for at least three days.

  • ORIENTATION:

    • Date: Tuesday, July 5th

    • Time: 1:00 pm - 2:00pm

    • Location: Zoom

  • Free Parking on Palos Verdes St. by the SRWC gym or North Bellflower Blvd. (about 20 min walk to FA2)​

    • If no free marking, ​park and pay in G1/G3 ($12/day) or G15 metered parking (30 min=$3) (​1 hr=$5) (90 min=$10) (Daily=$12)

Free Parking Route to FA2:

     1) Park and walk South down Palo Verdes St.

     2) Turn right on State University Drive

     3) Follow the curve onto East Campus Drive until side of FA2 building is reached

     4) Turn right into area of art buildings where FA2 is

Want to learn how to curate a gallery exhibition?

 

We are also looking for volunteers to help to put up the gallery exhibition that takes place in the CSULB galleries at the end of camp. You will be working with Karla and the instructors of the courses to put up artworks in a professional manner.

 

Duties may include cleaning up the galleries before and after the show for a professional opening; as well as hanging artworks on walls, or placed on podiums or wall shelves, and fixing the lighting to enhance the artwork in the gallery space.
